Yes, you CAN remove the hat! It's not attached in any way to the doll as is so often the case. The doll is absolutely delightful and much cuter in person than in the pictures. The materials are very soft and the colours are vibrant and well coordinated. I especially love the hair. It's soft and yet won't tangle as so many other types of hair fibers do. Overall, the doll seems to be very well designed and made.

Phil?s zippered useable backpack is especially fun. Phil makes a wonderful first doll and comes in a sturdy, reuseable plastic bag. Remove clothing from doll and put it in a pillowcase.
